Be Prepared,

Be Confident.

What we do

At Yellowood Legal, we focus on the practical intersection of family law and mental health practice. We provide legal services, education, and training designed to help professionals navigate the complexities of family court with clarity and confidence.

Our work centers on two core areas:

We provide training for therapists, counselors, and mental health professionals on issues such as family law procedure, subpoenas, records requests, and courtroom testimony. These trainings are designed to reduce risk, improve confidence, and strengthen professional boundaries.

We develop practical legal resources—guides, policies, and tools—that help both professionals and the public better understand how the legal system actually works in real-world situations.

Our approach is straightforward: clear guidance, practical solutions, and a focus on doing things the right way.

About
our company

With years of experience in family law—and firsthand involvement in making records requests, issuing subpoenas, and taking testimony from mental health professionals—we began to notice the same issues arise again and again.

Therapists were often unprepared for the legal process. Misunderstandings about subpoenas and court orders were common. And the gap between legal expectations and clinical practice created unnecessary risk, confusion, and stress.

In 2026, Yellowood Legal was created to change that.

We provide a behind-the-scenes, attorney-level perspective on how family law cases actually work—particularly when they involve mental health professionals. Our work focuses on preparation, expectations, and the real-world strategies family law attorneys use to shape their cases through records, testimony, and clinical involvement.

Our goal is simple: to replace uncertainty with clarity, and to ensure that professionals and clients alike are better prepared for what happens when the legal system and mental health practice intersect.
